| The first word we have is, (šanṭeẗ ḍahr) "backpack" |
| For example, |
| إمبارح إشتريت شنطة ضهر. |
| (ʾembāreḥ ʾeštarīt šanṭet ḍahr.) |
| "Yesterday I bought a backpack." |
| 2. |
| زميل |
| (zemīl) "classmate" |
| For example, |
| ندى هتروح مع زمايلها. |
| (nadā hatrūḥ maʿ zamāyelhā.) |
| "Nada will go back home with her classmates." |
| 3. |
| واجب |
| (wāgeb) "homework" |
| For example, |
| اعمل الواجب. |
| (eʿmel el-wāgeb.) |
| "Do your homework." |
| 4. |
| امتحان |
| (emtaḥān) "exam" |
| For example, |
| عندي بكرة امتحان. |

| This is how I study Maths. |

| احنا في نفس الفصل! |
| (eḥnā fī nafs el-faṣl!) "We're in the same class!" |

| إيه المواد اللي بتاخدها؟ |
| (ʾeīh el-mawād ellī betāḫudhā?) "What classes are you taking?" |

| إتخصصت في إيه؟ |
| (ʾetḫaṣṣaṣt fī ʾeīh?) "What is your major?" |
| And in Egypt, we usually have two answers. It’s either |
| علمي |
| (ʿelmī), or |
| أدبي |
| (ʾadabī). |
| علمي |
| (ʿelmī) means science, like a science major where you study chemistry, maths and biology; or |
| أدبي |
| (ʾadabī) arts, where you study geography, history, economy... and I am missing something. Ah, philosophy. |
