Where are you from in Arabic?
Let's get started.
Let's look at the dialogue.
When I read, I want you to pay attention
to how Hussam says where they're from.
Find it and see how it's used in the dialogue.
من أين أنت؟
(min ʾayna ʾant?)
أنا من الإسكندرية.
(ʾanā min al-ʾiskandariyyah.)
Where are you from?
I am from Alexandria.
Okay, let's look at the vocabulary.
First, we have

Now let's look at the sentence pattern.
This pattern is the structure that our dialogue followed.
من أين أنت؟
(min ʾayna ʾant?)
Where are you from?
[place or city] أنا من
(ʾanā min [place or city])
I'm from [place or city].
من أين
(min ʾayna)
together means where from.
And
أنت
('ant)
is the masculine form of you
أنتي
('anti)
is the feminine form of you.
