| بكتب مذكراتي. |
| (bakteb mozakkerātī.) |
| Once more with the English translation. |
| بتعمل إيه؟ |
| (beteʿmel ʾeīh?) |
| “What are you doing?” |
| بكتب مذكراتي. |
| (bakteb mozakkerātī.) |
| “I'm writing my journal.” |
| First of all you'll need to learn how to say “What are you doing?” |
| That's: |
| بتعمل إيه؟ |
| (beteʿmel ʾeīh?) |
| Listen to it again: |
| بتعمل إيه؟, بتعمل إيه؟ |
| (beteʿmel ʾeīh?, beteʿmel ʾeīh?) |
| This Arabic sentence literally translates as “You are doing what?” |
| But it means “What are you doing?”. |
| Now, how do you answer this question? |
| The pattern is: |
| بكتب [object]. |
| (bakteb [object].) |
| “I'm writing [object].” |
| For example: |
| “I'm writing my journal.” |
