“I am going to change my clothes because it’s wet.” |

يغني أغنية أطفال |
(yeġannī ʾoġneyyeẗ ʾaṭfāl) to sing a lullaby. |
For example, you can say, |
هغنيله أغنية أطفال. |
(haġannīloh ʾoġneyyeẗ ʾaṭfāl.) |
“I will sing him a lullaby.” |

يلا ننام يلا ننام، وهدبحلك جوز الحمام. |
(yallā nenām yallā nenām, ūhadbaḥlak ǧūz el-ḥamām.) |
Or in Lebanese, it is |
يلا ننام يلا ننام، وهدبحلك طير الحمام. |
(yallā nenām yallā nenām, ūhadbaḥlak ṭīr el-ḥamām.) |
It means like, let’s go to sleep and if you go to sleep, I will get you like pair of – not get you, but slaughter you a pair of pigeons because it’s very famous like it’s a delicious meal. So I will get you a pair of pigeons to eat if you sleep. |

الضهر (el-ḍohr) means afternoon and |
ينام (yenām) means sleep. |
So, to sleep in the afternoon is to have a nap. |
For example, you can say, |
البيبيهات عادةً بيناموا الضهر. |
(el-bībīhāt ʿādaẗan beynāmū el-ḍohr.) |
“Babies usually have naps.” |

(yeʾakkel el-beībī) to feed the baby |
For example, you can say, |
هأكّل البيبي. |
(haʾakkel el-beībī.) |
“I will feed the baby.” |

يزق عربية الأطفال |
(yezoʾ ʿarabeyyet el-ʾaṭfāl) to push a stroller |
For example, you can say, |
ممكن تزق عربية الأطفال؟ |
(momken tezoʾ ʿarabeyyet el-ʾaṭfāl?) |
“Would you please push the stroller?” |
عربية (ʿarabeyya) means car and |
الأطفال (el-ʾaṭfāl) means babies or kids. |
So it’s a baby car. |

(yegahhez bebrūnah) to prepare a bottle |
For example, you can say, |

(ʾabl mā ʾanzel hagahhez ʾakl el-beībī.) |
“Before I go out, I will prepare the baby food.” |
Or you can say, |
قبل ما أنزل هجهز السريلاك. |
